The purpose of the riding and demonstration organized by the Hungarian Bicycle Club is to show for an afternoon that Budapest can be a city, where anyone can ride the bicycle from small children to elder people. This year, for the first time, families with small kids are expected with a shortened route. In addition, charity programs, picnics, music and portrait photography with bikes will await participants in the City Park. The demonstration will affect the traffic on the Elisabeth, Chain, Margit and Árpád bridges, as well as the Tunnel and the Andrássy Avenue.
The I Bike Budapest bicycle parade starts from the Tabán, on Sunday, April 22, at 3:00 pm. From here they’ll cross the Danube on the Elisabeth bridge to Pest. The finish will be in the City Park, as usual. The parade will be opened by the new ambassador of the Netherlands, Mr. René van Hell.
So save the date and get on your bike at 3:00 pm on April 22, 2018 in the Tabán or join the riders at any point on their route.
